Part of the SupaDeb Story
Life doesn’t always follow a straight line, and my journey is proof that reinvention is a superpower. Raising my three children while navigating immense twists and turns taught me early on that resilience is everything. From pioneering fitness and television to mastering computers and technology, and eventually finding healing through art, every chapter of my life has been defined by one core drive: turning obstacles into fuel.
From Breast Cancer to Bodybuilding Champion
My path took an early turn when I faced a breast cancer diagnosis at just 24 years old. Emerging from intensive surgeries and a grueling recovery, I refused to let physical adversity dictate my future. Needing a massive goal to reclaim my strength, I set my sights on competitive bodybuilding. In just four short months of disciplined training and nutrition, I stepped on stage at the Ms. Southern Arizona Bodybuilding Championship—and won both the lightweight title and the overall championship.
That story caught the attention of Joe Weider, leading to a feature article in Muscle & Fitness magazine and launching a dynamic chapter in the health and fitness industry. Alongside competing, I channeled my passion into teaching and media, hosting fitness TV shows like Metrobics and One Minute Fitness, working as an EMT and CPR instructor, and even collaborating with the National Skateboard Association as a trainer and medic alongside pro skaters like Tony Hawk.
Entering the Digital Frontier
As my career evolved, so did my curiosity, leading me straight into the world of computers and technology. I dove headfirst into hardware and software, quickly becoming a top IT support technician and opening my own company, Zwizardz, with a signature motto: "My Intelligence is Artificial."
For years, I loved solving complex technical puzzles, making computers and technology accessible to everyday users, and serving as a computer coordinator for school districts—proving that with the right mindset, any technical barrier can be conquered.
Finding Healing in Art and Community
Following a severe bout of MRSA and later sustaining three Traumatic Brain Injuries, my life shifted once again. While these experiences brought profound changes, they also opened the door to deep creative and community-focused work.
Today, living by my concept that "Imagination is the Strongest Nation on Earth," I find healing and purpose in creating vibrant mixed-media art, often upcycling materials like pizza boxes to bring new perspectives to life. I also channel my energy into giving back—serving on the local board for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, supporting animal shelters, helping seniors navigate the digital world, and mentoring others navigating Traumatic Brain Injuries.
My Intelligence is Artificial, but I'm not Artificially Intelligent.
